Teen Council

Who We Are:

This student driven group provides a forum for our junior/senior high homeschool students to enhance peer relationships while promoting activities and events relevant to teens.

The Teen Council is supported by a panel of parents tasked with keeping events and activities in line with our SHHS mission and guidelines.

The Teen Council members are the following:

Carissa - Hi! My name is Carissa, and I am the President of the Teen Council. I will be 15 years old and in 10th grade when the 2017 school year starts. I am the youngest of 5 siblings, having 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. I enjoy spending my free time playing on the computer with my friends, reading, and doing arts and crafts. I have a dog named Zara, 3 parakeets names Chipper, Pablo, and Claude, and a gerbil named Milo. I am learning both the piano and the guitar, and I also enjoy singing in the Amplify worship band. I look forward to working with the other members of the Teen Council and planning fun events for teens in the Homeschool group.

Rachel - Hi! My name is Rachel and I am 16 and a sophomore. I enjoy photography, worship team (singing), painting, nail art, and listening to audio books. I have a gecko named Fred and a cat named Ashes. I hope to be able to help in Teen Council with my love for crafts and taking pictures.

Gavin - Hello there!   I am thrilled to be embarking on my first year on the Teen Council.  I am currently 13 years old and in 8th grade, but will be 14 and in 9th by the time I start my term in the fall of 2017.  One of my favorite activities is playing the piano, which I have been actively engaging in for over 9 ½ years.  Some other pastimes are archery, skiing (when weather permits), video games, and playing with my younger brother Max.  I really enjoy math, as it is easily the most logical and unbiased subject, and also like reading and German.  I have a beautiful cat whose birth-name is Hugo but who is most often called by a more recent nomer: Foofers.  My position on the Teen Council is to be Treasurer, and I am very excited to perform my duties as well as meet and get to know as many new people as I can!

Ian – Hi!  My name is Ian!  In the fall of 2017, I will be in the 9th grade.  I have been homeschooled all my life.  I have been attending Spring Hills Baptist Church for about five years.  Some of my hobbies are playing basketball, Pokemon, and hanging out with friends.  When I was in 3rd grade, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior during SHBC's VBS program.  Two years later  I was baptized.  Now I serve in the church's VBS program.  Jesus really changed my life and He will change yours too.

Kaylee –  Hi! My name is Kaylee. I am fifteen and I will be going into the tenth grade in the fall. I have recently started taking karate lessons and I love it! I have earned my orange belt (the first of the colored belt) and am working on earning my gold (second level). The branch of karate I am learning is Shuri Ryu, from the islands of Okinawa. Some of my other hobbies include; writing novel length stories whenever I have free time, watching crime shows, and singing and dancing (ninja-style of course) to upbeat Christian music.

Sausha –  Hi everyone!  I will be in the 9th grade in the fall of 2017.  A few of my interests are writing, photography, singing, and learning about science.  in biology and anatomy.  Sports, I love badmitton!  We live out in the county and I love to explore nature.  One of the most important things I try to do everyday is my devotion time with the Lord and writing in my journal.  I'm looking forward to being on the Teen Council team to learn about serve others and strengthen my relationship with Christ.
